Jordan 11 Retro Low

This Jordan 11 Retro Low is based on the original high-top sneaker released back in the mid-90s as the first AJ11. As such, it features a similarly sophisticated colour scheme, with white and black tones that allow it to be paired with a tuxedo. It also has the familiar translucent outsole with subtle grip lines curving back and forth across its surface. At each end, deep purple pods have been inserted into the partially see-through rubber, their colouration being the source of the shoe’s nickname of Concord since it is also the name given to the violet hue. Herringbone tread formations deliver additional traction underfoot, while the carbon fibre plate visible behind the translucent rubber between them fortifies the sole and gives the wearer a strong step. Although most of this plate features a honeycomb pattern formed by two dark shades of grey, its centre hosts a bright white Jumpman logo.
A thick layer of white Phylon foam has been stacked atop this sturdy base, its interior filled out with a large pocket of Air that reaches the whole length of the shoe. This provides comprehensive comfort underfoot, while the exaggerated black mudguard above it protects the upper from splashes of mud and dirt. In addition, this large feature is made from patent leather, so its surface gives off a spectacular sheen in the light.
Over the top of the foot, a white ballistic mesh adds durability as well as breathability, with the same material covering the tongue too. Meanwhile, the heel is encased in a panel made from smooth white leather. A miniature Jumpman is embroidered into its centre just below the small black heel tab that is formed out of the shoe’s inner lining. Stamped here is the number 23 in white – a reference to Jordan’s famous jersey number.
The soft black material of the heel tab then reaches inside the sneaker, spreading across its inner walls and the insole before returning on the underside of the tongue. A white Jumpman adorns the sockliner, its brightly coloured form standing out perfectly against the darker hue surrounding it. Back on the outer, strips of white textile have been attached to each side of the quarter to create its webbed lacing system. Each one has a looped end that can be used as an eyelet for the thick white laces. Below these, across the centre of the tongue, is a black branding patch containing Jordan and Jumpman text in white. They have been rendered in such a way that the words can only be read side on, for an intriguing look. Resting between them is a dark purple Jumpman, which rounds off this iconic colourway with a concluding piece of stylish branding.
