Jordan 4 Retro
This Jordan 4 Retro has a clean look derived from its mostly monochrome outer, while various chic details give it a luxurious quality that has seen it nicknamed Pure Money. The outsole is white-on-white, much like the rest of the sneaker, this elegant tone covering the toe cap at the front, the herringbone grip patterns through the main part of the foot and the smooth section in its centre. The only exception to this is the Pure Platinum Jumpman below the arch of the foot – a subtle variation in tone. The midsole is also white from heel to toe, including the piece in the rear half of the foot which holds the visible Nike Air, the portion that wraps around the toe and creates a sloping curve on the lateral flank, and the top layer that protects the leather above it.
Moving into the upper, the brilliant white tone continues across the various layers of real and synthetic leather that forge the Jordan 4’s iconic look. Three patches of white netting positioned around the sides and front of the laces help to ventilate the foot while also producing an intriguing aesthetic. Structural triangles of white leather emerge from the shoe’s flanks to connect with the Metallic Silver eyelets at the top of the eyestay. These bring added strength and stability to the sidewalls, and the chrome cages at the other end of the laces hold the foot firmly in place.
The all-white theme carries on inside the shoe, covering the velvety inner walls and the sockliner, which itself has been printed with a Metallic Silver Jumpman. Another one of these dynamic logos can be found on the Jordan Flight tongue label, this time in an off-white tone, before a final one shows up on the heel. This last Jumpman is made of more glossy chrome, bringing a striking sheen to the back of the foot. Lastly, an Air Jordan label has been sewn into the underside of the tongue and Pure$ text has been embroidered onto the inside of the heel tab to complete this sneaker with a stylish touch.
