Jordan 6 Retro
This suave Jordan 6 Retro is a faithful recreation of one of the OG colourways from 1991, making it a highly appealing sneaker. Its outsole is covered in angular lines created by the interplay between its three semi-translucent parts and two opaque sections. Coming in from the sides of the forefoot and crossing over the heel, the former areas are infused with an off-white tone, while the latter pieces, which fill out the toe, heel and the centre of the outsole, are completely white. Circular indentations are spread out over the heel and forefoot to provide excellent grip underfoot, and a Maroon Jumpman stretches below the arch of the foot, giving a tantalising hint of the compelling colour combination that decorates the upper. Just like the outsole, the midsole brings together these three tones as the translucent pieces wrap up over the sides of the forefoot and heel, where they form a frame around the visible Air cushioning. With this keeping things nice and comfortable, the rest of the polyurethane midsole comes in white, with rich Maroon accents adding a splash of colour and giving the sneaker a strong aesthetic.
The upper, meanwhile, is coated in premium white leather panels arranged into a few different layers. Through the front half of the foot, the underlayer can be seen, a collection of perforations supplying ventilation to the flanks between the dynamic overlay that cuts up and down along them. At the back of the shoe, a larger overlay encompasses the heel as far as the front of the collar on each side. This panel is also marked with aeration holes, with big ones set into the bulging ankle protectors and smaller ones arranged either side of it. Just backwards of these, a moulded white pull tab arcs outwards from the heel, a thick strip of Maroon embossed through its centre.
Inside the shoe, white and Maroon contrast against one another once more, the former taking up the inner walls, the latter decorating the insole. White Nike Air branding has been printed onto the sockliner, and the tongue stretching up above it is entirely Maroon in tone. Air Jordan text is embossed along the tongue’s top edge, and two square-shaped windows appear just below it. A Maroon lace toggle sits in front of the tongue, holding the white laces firmly in place. The word “Nike” stands out brightly in white upon its surface, and the white lace covering below it reverses this colour formation by displaying an embroidered Jumpman in Maroon thread. Completing this captivating Air Jordan 6 is a much more subtle piece of branding – a white Nike Air logo woven masterfully into the centre of the heel.
