In 2018, Luka Dončić began his NBA career. He made a strong impression, earning himself the Rookie of the Year award, and, after switching to Jordan Brand in 2019, he launched his first signature basketball trainer. In April 2025, Jordan released the Luka 4 – a captivating evolution of the series designed to support his fast, unrelenting play style.

A durable blend of textiles makes the upper of the Jordan Luka 4 tough yet flexible and lightweight. Its sculpted shape moulds to the foot for a snug fit, particularly in the heel, which is protected by sturdy panelling. Flightwire cables have been incorporated into the lacing structure to enhance containment while the large tongue offers plush padding over the instep.

The sole of the Luka 4 features full-length Cushlon 3.0 foam cushioning for superior comfort and energy return, with a forefoot Zoom Air unit adding springy responsiveness. A trademark IsoPlate provides torsional rigidity and stability as its updated design sees it extend all the way from the forefoot to the heel. When combined with the radiating herringbone grip pattern that fans out from the centre of the rubber outsole, this delivers outstanding balance and control, even during rapid cuts and pivots. The shoe’s overall low-to-the-ground design then delivers solid court feel for smooth, agile movement.

Layered textiles and eye-catching embroidery give the Jordan Luka 4 a refined and memorable style. Curving concentric bands emanate across the lateral flank, with the IsoPlate visible on the midsole and stitched design lines punctuating the upper. Luka’s signature is printed onto the insole and his logo embroidered into the tongue, while an embossed 77 on the midsole represents his jersey number and Jordan Jumpman logos decorate the lateral heel and lacing. The outsole also carries his logo alongside an etching of his name. At its centre is a compass with letters spelling out LUKA instead of the four cardinal directions in a nod to his exhilarating movement and his passion for high-end wristwatches. Finally, a heart has been delicately embroidered on the underside of the tongue in honour of his daughter.

Ahead of its April release, Luka Dončić debuted the Luka 4 on February 25th as his new team, the Los Angeles Lakers, took on his old one, the Dallas Mavericks, for the first time since his move. Dončić impressed, achieving a triple double and showing off the shoe’s performance capabilities in a Lakers victory. He wore the vibrant ‘Space Navigator’ launch colourway, which was soon followed by several designs paying homage to his off-court passions, the ‘Gone Fishing’, ‘Gone Camping’ and ‘Gone Ranching’, and the ‘Hčerka’, whose name means ‘daughter’ in his native language of Slovenian.
