Nike Force 1 Low x Off-White™

This toddler’s version of the Nike Air Force 1 Low x Off-White™ comes in a reduced design which retains the trademark deconstructed look of the original. Black mesh forms the foundation of the upper through the lateral midfoot panel and the toe box, with added perforations bringing ventilation to the foot. Sleek black fabric shapes the forefoot mudguard and the rear overlay, both of which have an appealing criss-cross pattern spreading across them. The same design element appears on the tongue, whose lateral edge has a white branded label attached to it. Running around the outside of the tongue is a suede eyestay in black with loose tips that extend slightly beyond its tip.

On the heel, more plush suede can be found through the panel just below the soft, padded collar. Its surface is debossed with a swoosh and the word “Logo” in quotation marks. Below this, the rear overlay has been opened up to reveal a woven half moon section on the lower part of the heel for an intriguing touch. More lettering stands out along the bottom of the laces, where the word “Shoelaces” has been printed in white, and another paragraph of text sits behind the medial swoosh over the smooth black leather of the midfoot panel. This Nike logo is made of pristine white leather and fixed to the shoe’s flank with white zigzag stitching. Another adorns the opposite sidewall, a bright orange tag emerging from its tail end for a bold splash of colour.

On the sneaker’s black insole, a white square contains Off-White™’s arrows logo and a white rectangle has “The Ten” written into it to honour Virgil Abloh’s original AF1 collaboration. Other hallmarks of the popular designer’s work remain elsewhere on the shoe, firstly in the form of Nike text printed in white Helvetica font on the lateral heel of the foam-cushioned midsole. This feature is made of soft, spongy rubber, and instead of indented lines on the tread, it has white concentric rings printed onto its smooth underside to represent the grip patterns found on the outsole of AF1s made for adults. This makes the whole shoe flexible and comfortable for toddlers, while a leather tag decorated with the words “Off-White™ C/O Nike” and looped through the uppermost eyelet adds a distinctive finish to the sneaker.
