Nike Air Humara

The gentle colours used across this Nike Air Humara give it a pleasantly light appearance to go with its sturdy, rugged build. It rests upon a solid base with traction provided by a black rubber outsole and the grip pads lined up along its forefoot and heel. These are bolstered by studded panels on the toe, heel and flanks, while Ashen Slate diamonds litter the back part of the forefoot to bring an intriguing aesthetic effect to the feature. An Ashen Slate trail emblem resides below the arch of the foot, and Air lettering sits beside a swoosh below the heel, both in the same appealingly pale shade of blue.

Meanwhile, the bulky, textile-wrapped midsole is filled with both Nike Air and Zoom Air cushioning to supply supreme comfort to the wearer. Its exterior brings in a mesmerising visual aspect with its black and white grid pattern and the indented ridges on each side of the forefoot and heel. More plush materials soften the feel of the upper as its underlayer is made from an Ashen Slate fabric which shows up on the forefoot, the flanks and the sides of the heel. Pure Platinum suede then forms the majority of the overlays, from the mudguards on the forefoot, sidewalls and heel to the curvaceous panels that arc from the forefoot up along the sides of the tongue and down towards the heel. Leather overlays have been added alongside these, with one in Pure Platinum on the forefoot, and another in Ashen Slate through the centre of the heel.

Along the flanks, the shoe’s webbed lacing system has been constructed using strips of Midnight Navy fabric with a line of Pure Platinum down the middle. These travel up from the midsole and beneath the suede overlays to the sides of the tongue before looping back on themselves to return to the midsole. In this way, they create eyelets for the Pure Platinum laces to thread through. Intriguingly, delicate stitching marks the suede overlays where the fabric strips pass underneath them, with the same effect repeated on the heel mudguard. Here, two more pieces of textile just like those on the sides move diagonally up the heel, below the oval-shaped grey suede tab located there, and out the other side, culminating in a pull tab that sticks out above the height of the collar.

Another stripy piece of fabric reaches from the forefoot overlay up the centre of the Ashen Slate tongue. On its way, it undulates up and down to create more lace loops and passes under another oval tab, this one with an Ashen Slate centre, a black embroidered outline and white Air branding in the middle. When it appears on the other side, it creates a second pull tab as it loops out over the top of the tongue. Below this, the shoe’s inner reveals a soft Ashen Slate lining and a Midnight Navy insole with a Nike trail logo printed onto it. A series of swooshes then adorn the outer: black embroidered ones appear on the toe and the heel tab, while black leather logos highlight the flanks. Finally, the word “Air” has been woven through the lateral heel in black thread, thus rounding out this powerful sneaker in style.
