Structure 26

Since launching in the early 1990s, the Nike Structure series has offered top-level stability to overpronating runners and others who need extra support. In late 2024, Nike made the influential franchise a key part of its modern road running collection, and a few months later, the Structure 26 became the first model in its ‘supportive cushioning’ category.

The Nike Structure 26 features an engineered mesh upper with breathable forefoot zones and seamless, durable panelling on the sidewalls and heel. Comfort is enhanced by the generous tongue and collar padding, with the heel cushion curving outwards to reduce pressure on the Achilles. The lacing system offers a snug, secure fit by combining reinforced eyelets with a large tongue loop and a webbed structure that attaches to an internal midfoot band. When added to the sturdy heel counter, this gives excellent lockdown, containing the foot without constricting the toes. Lastly, minimal reflective elements add a practical touch to the forefoot and heel.

A full-length ReactX midsole supports the Structure 26, delivering substantial cushioning and responsiveness. Its increased stack height maximises comfort and impact protection, with stability maintained through midsole geometry rather than rigid materials. The high sidewalls of the Midfoot Support System rise significantly at the lateral heel and medial midfoot to guide each step and reduce injuries related to ankle eversion and overpronation. A slight widening of the forefoot and flaring of the insole further enhance stability, while the 10mm drop ensures comfort and durability, and the gentle rocker encourages forward motion. High Abrasion Rubber is strategically placed around the heel and midfoot, thus saving weight while offering durable traction, as softer blown rubber lugs with large flex grooves provide grip and manoeuvrability through the forefoot, leading to smooth transitions.

A suave, sophisticated look defines the Nike Structure 26 as its minimal branding combines with undulating design lines across the upper and sole. Classic Swooshes adorn the sidewalls, with smaller logos on the heel panel and midsole, and technological elements like the Midfoot Support System and ReactX foam have been labelled with stylish writing. The woven tongue patch completes the look with an elegantly embroidered Nike Run logo alongside the model name.

Nike launched the Structure 26 in summer 2025 with a campaign involving American distance runners Cole Hocker and Sinclaire Johnson. A member of the Nike Union Athletics Club, Sinclaire praised the shoe’s “balance of cushioning, stability and responsiveness”, noting how it “hugs” the midfoot and provides stability while allowing the runner to “move naturally” with “just the right amount of cushion”. Meanwhile, Hocker – a 1500m gold-medallist at the 2024 Olympics – appeared alongside teammate Cooper Teare in a video showcasing its reliability as a training shoe. In it, he described the Structure’s ability to keep the body in alignment “for optimal runs” and lauded how its “perfect blend of comfort and support” helps prevent injury.

The Nike Structure 26 is a premium stability shoe that masterfully blends subtle motion control, reliable support and comfortable cushioning to become the ideal training partner.
